Your new stove  Firstly I should mention that a wood burning gas or oil stove will transform your heating economy. An open fire is about 20% efficient which means that for every £1 of fuel burnt you will get 20p worth of heat in return but a modern stove/room heater will give around 73% efficiency. Now that is quite a saving.
To get this efficiency and to ensure your safety the stove must be installed correctly. A stove should have: - a chimney or flue of a specified size and condition,
- a hearth of the correct size,
- and adequate ventilation.
 These elements ensure a constant and warm up draught. It is the draw up the chimney that pulls into the fire the correct amount of air for combustion and draught to pull away the fumes.
